Dominican Association of Health Tourism considers 2018 an excellent year for the niche

The Dominican Health Tourism Association assessed the development of medical tourism in the Dominican Republic as positive, by passing a balance of the niche in the last twelve months.

The president of the entity, Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, said that this year the efforts were focused on concluding public-private partnerships, attracting new investment to the sector, generating statistics, bringing accrediting entities and second opinion programs to the main providers of the sector. local health

Cambiaso stressed that the bases were created to strengthen the promotion of the destination through consulates, embassies, tourist promotion offices, publications and events.

“This year we celebrated the IV International Congress of Health and Wellness Tourism, an activity organized by the Dominican Association of Health Tourism and AF Strategic Communication, which became the most important medical tourism event in the Caribbean region and Central America” he commented.

He added that a private investment lunch was held by the Dominican People’s Bank and the Export and Investment Center (CEI-RD), to promote investment and new medical tourism projects in the DR.

Likewise, the Health Tourism Study in DR was presented, a national development strategy and quality seal for qualified suppliers that we will be presenting at the hand of the National Competitiveness Council at the end of January

“Throughout this process, AF Strategic Communication has become a great ally that I consider relevant to recognize. It has been a facilitator for the collaboration and integration of multiple media and associations for the support and dissemination of news of the sector at national and international level, ”he said.

He highlighted the promotion of major health centers in local and international fairs and through the Health and Wellness Tourism Guide and medical facilitators.

Likewise, the signing of important inter-institutional agreements and integration to institutions, such as the Export Coalition, to promote the export capacity of health sector services, medical devices and pharmaceuticals.
