The Dominican Association of Health Tourism (ADTS) and AF Strategic Communication celebrated the inaugural cocktail of the 4th. of the International Congress of Health and Wellness Tourism, in which the Metropolitan Hospital of Santiago (HOMS), the Dominican Popular Bank (BPD), and the Medical Tourism Association (MTA) were recognized, for promoting the growth of health tourism in the country, as well as integration and collaboration, from their respective sectors.<\/p>\n
During the opening of the event, Alejandro Cambiaso, president of the ADTS, indicated that this association favors the best practices and modernization of the health and tourism sectors to consolidate the country and the region as a destination of health tourism, welfare and preferential investment.<\/p>\n
Prior to the awards ceremony, Amelia Reyes Mora, president of AF Strategic Communications, said that coordinated efforts by the public and private sectors are needed to build a solid reputation of the Dominican Republic as a health tourism destination and for the Nation is attractive in terms of trust, competitiveness, quality and safety for the visitor.<\/p>\n
The ADTS recognized the Banco Popular Dominicano (BPD), for the institutional support for initiatives that favor the development and modernization of the health and tourism industries in the Dominican Republic and its actions aimed at promoting investment and sustainable development of tourism in Health.<\/p>\n
The plate was delivered by the Vice Minister of Tourism, Fausto Fern\u00e1ndez, on behalf of Tourism Minister Francisco Javier Garc\u00eda and Amelia Reyes Mora, to Juan Lehoux, Executive Vice President of Business and Investment, on behalf of Manuel Grull\u00f3n, President of the Popular Group<\/p>\n
Similarly, HOMS was awarded for being a benchmark for innovation, medical updating, technology transfer and for the successful development of the Center for Robotic Surgery, actions that favor the positioning of the Dominican Republic as a health tourism destination.<\/p>\n
This award was received by Rafael S\u00e1nchez Espa\u00f1ol, president of the Board of Directors of HOMS from the Minister of Health, Rafael S\u00e1nchez C\u00e1rdenas with Alejandro Cambiaso.<\/p>\n
While the Medical Tourism Association (MTA), an international medical tourism association, received the distinction for its efforts to promote the integration, collaboration and best practices of the global health tourism value chain. The recognition was received by Jonathan Edelheit, CEO of the MTA, from Alejandro Cambiaso and Amelia Reyes Mora.<\/p>\n
In the congress that has more than 50 sponsors, and in which representatives from the United States, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Venezuela, Guatemala, Italy, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Canada will meet, panels such as: The Global Perspective on Health and Wellness Tourism, the Challenges and Opportunities of its Human Capital, Importance of International Accreditation in Medical Tourism, Strategies and Experiences for the Construction of a Health and Wellness Tourism Destination Brand, Experience of International Patient, Recruitment of International Patients.<\/p>\n
Similarly, this meeting that takes place at the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo, brings together representatives of the Vice Presidency of the Republic, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Tourism, National Competitiveness Council, National Council of Export Free Zones (CNZFE), Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (CEIRD), Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES), the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), the National Council of Private Enterprise (Conep), the Dominican Association of Tourist Press (Adompretur), presidents of Medical Societies, and authorities of the main hospital centers of the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
