What is it? Abdominoplasty consists of removing excess abdominal skin and fat, tightening abdominal wall muscles. A horizontal or v-shaped incision is made in the suprapubic region to lift the skin and fatty tissue around the ribs which is then stretched and excess hanging skin is removed. Additionally, abdominal wall muscles are sutured to improve the tone and shape of the abdomen. The operation can be performed in on outpatient basis or on a 24 hour inpatient basis. This procedure must be done under general anesthesia, and can only be performed by a plastic surgeon in an operating room. Benefits of the procedure
- Abdominal contouring recovery.
- Muscle flaccidity correction.
- Flatter and firmer abdomen and narrower waist.
- Stretch mark removal.
